Artist Bio

Veronique MacRae is a Multidisciplinary Artist and Educator whose work bridges identity, spirituality, creative expression, and healing-centered arts. As the Founder and Artistic Director of Stage and Spirit, Inc., she creates immersive experiences where performance becomes a pathway to personal transformation, ancestral remembrance, and collective restoration. Her creative work spans theatre, film, media, and education, with a deep commitment to guiding individuals and communities through seasons of change.

A SAG-AFTRA performer and 2023 Kennedy Center Local Theatre Resident in Social Impact, Veronique brings over two decades of experience across classrooms, stages, sets, and community spaces. She is a graduate of North Carolina Central University with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Duke Divinity School with a Master of Christian Studies, where her understanding of performance as spiritual practice deepened. She currently serves as Co-Director of Coordinate Theatre for St. Albans School and National Cathedral School in Washington, DC, while establishing her creative and healing arts practice.

Veronique’s written work includes plays, screenplays, essays, poetry, and devotional texts. She is the author of The Artist Escape: Refreshing, Renewal, and Rejuvenation for the Creative Soul and In a Field Full of Lavender Trees: Poetry and Prose of a Soul Seeking Freedom. Her upcoming production, From Sacred Soil and Watered Women, marks a return to land- and lineage-based storytelling in performance.

A Professional Culinarian, Veronique is also the Co-Founder of The Tasty Alternative, a culinary experience company founded in 2013 with David Johnson. She is the creator of Salt + Ash, a ritual-inspired culinary series rooted in her S.O.U.L. framework—Story, Offering, Uncovering, Legacy—exploring nourishment as remembrance and communal ritual.

She is currently in preparation for doctoral study in Visionary Practice and Regenerative Leadership, and is gently expanding her practice to include ritual design and cultural storytelling informed by ancestral wisdom and spiritual inquiry. Through Stage and Spirit and all of her creative work, Veronique continues to cultivate spaces where healing happens, voices rise, and legacy is reclaimed.
